I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I promise my reviews are honest and true. I want to provide you with the best discipling resources for your family!
I love books–especially children’s books. There is nothing better than a great story, especially one with fantastic pictures. They are even better when they teach a great lesson.
I also love good mail. (No bills, please!) Imagine how excited I was when I came home the other day to find a package waiting for me by the door. Inside it, was a brand new, shiny book! This wasn’t just any book either…it was The Whole World Needs Jesus by Ann Dunagan.
A Peek Into the Author
I first met Ann at a homeschool conference a couple years ago. I was blown away by the amazing ministry of Ann and her husband, Harvest Ministry. They also run Mission Minded Families and Daring Daughters. If you can imagine someone who just exudes the joy and love of Jesus, it’s Ann. So when I saw she was writing a children’s book, I knew it would be anointed.
Meet the Illustrator
We are all about discipling our kids at Minivan Ministries. We are in total agreement with this Dunagan family Mission Minded Family quote,
“You can only export what you grow at home.
One of the things we love is that the illustrator of The Whole Worlds Needs Jesus is Ann’s daughter, Caela Rose Dunagan. My 6 year old is an aspiring artist. When asked what her favorite thing about the book was, she said, “ I LOOOVE the pictures!” They really are precious.
Below, you can see my son’s favorite page of the book.
My 3 year old is showing her favorite page below.
Teaching the Great Commission
The best thing about this book is that it teaches the importance of the great commission. It does it in such a fun way. It reminds me of the style of Doctor Seuss. My 9 year old son said, “I like the flow. It was like a poem.”
My husband and I loved the way it honored scripture. Although no scripture was quoted directly, the message of the scriptures was thick throughout the pages.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
Or, as it states in The Whole World Needs Jesus,
In God’s eyes,
Each person is wonderfully made,
So to witness and share
We should not be afraid.
With the power of His Spirit,
We can be BOLD!
For the Gospel to everyone
Must be told.
I highly recommend using The Whole World Needs Jesus as a fun way to teach the Great Commission to your kids!

I love this. What a great way to teach the great commission to kids – and adults too! I find I am learning new things every day. I think homeschool moms are some of the smartest people I know – because they learn everything all over again.

I like this. It teaches kids early on how to spread the word of Christ. My son is starting to read more now that he’s in second grade, so this would be right up his alley.
