He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’;and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Luke 10:27 NIV
Thank you so much for joining me in the Luke 10:27 Challenge. It really boils down to one thing–loving God with all you’ve got. Everything we have, everything we do, can help us love God in one way or another.
When we love God with all our heart, we must make God our treasure, think about Him throughout the day, and guard our mouths.
When we love God with all our soul, we find rest in God, find the best spiritual pathway to connect to God, and embrace who God made us to be.
When we love God with all our strength, we hold tightly to our faith, rely on God, and work to get and stay physically strong.
When we love God with all of our mind, we study the world with God’s perspective and think about the evidence that God is real.
Love Your Neighbor
As we continue on into February, we will look at the last part of this verse… “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Your neighbor can be anyone around you–your friends, your family, or even strangers. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to examine how we can share this love with others.
I hope that if you missed any of the days above that you will check them out to prepare yourself for loving your neighbor. Once you love God, everything else falls into place! It’s hard to love others, who are human with all their flaws, if we can’t love the One who is Perfect!
I want to leave you with a fun activity that you can do with your kids to help them understand the true meaning of love. My friend Kristi at Creating a Great Day came up with a great way to help your kids understand 1 Corinthians 13, The Love Chapter. Check it out and join us over the next couple of weeks as we love our neighbors as ourselves. Go forth in love!

This is really awesome. It is God’s love that keeps us all going, through whatever it is we’re facing at the moment. That’s why it’s also important to live life through him. Giving him everything we have.

Today I also blogged about loving behavior. I think we forget the meaning of the Golden Rule, or at least some among us do. We need more love in the world!

I would add, everything falls into place, but sometimes in some very messy and unexpected ways 🙂 I’m looking forward into diving into this series on loving others with you guys. It’s such a needed and important topic. Wishing you a blessed week as you share Christs’ love!
