The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV
Jesus came and made Himself human, lived for us, and even died for us, so that we might have life. We are charged to “take up our cross” and give life to others as well. How many times do we instead, give in to temptation, and make life-threatening choices? Do we criticize? Argue? Yell? Or simply neglect doing the good we know that we ought to do?
Creating a life-giving home is within our grasp. Click To TweetWouldn’t it be wonderful if we could, instead, give life? Creating a life-giving home is within our grasp. Sally and Sarah Clarkson’s newest book,The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming, is about just that. This is a great follow-up from our study of Teaching from Rest: A Homeschooler’s Guide to Unshakable Peace as we continue to create an atmosphere of love, acceptance, and encouragement for our families to become all that God created them to be. If you are new, however, this is a great place to jump in!
If that sounds like something you long for, then you definitely need to participate in this month’s Book Brigade! Grab a copy of The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming and join us. Scheduled Scopes are on Tuesdays at 8pm CST on Periscope @Minivanmin. If you can’t, then please catch the replay. Links will be posted on Facebook, and Twitter, as well as on Katch.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24 ESV

Already wondering what’s next???
Can you believe it is almost May already?!? School will be out soon and it will be time for some old-fashioned fun! With that in mind, our May Book Brigade book will be Francine River’s Redeeming Love. It’s a wildly popular one that I have never read! If you are like me, let’s see what we are missing. If you love it, join us and give your insight or re-read for fun. If you are one of the rare ones who didn’t like it, join us in May and share why. Until then…
How do you bring life to your home? What life-giving qualities do the other family members add?
See you on Periscope Tuesday at 8 @MininvanMin!

Ahh, I feel like this will be a much challenging area (in the home) once my husband and I have children; however, one thing I have learned to do (at least as of right now!) is to stop and be available for him. While we both love to have an orderly home and dinner ready, it means so much to him when we we both stop to listen and engage throughout the day despite what responsibilities we may have. Not only is our marriage stronger because of it, but we get to experience the life that comes out of that connection.
Also, I loved Redeeming Love! Great read and a beautiful picture of God’s love for us (a more “modern” day version of the book of Hosea. I hope it blesses you! -xx Anna
