The lazy days of summer are fantastic. If you are a nerd like me, however, you get pretty excited about using all that extra time to plan! There are lots of fun things to plan–summer activities, meals, household projects. I have been chomping at the bit to begin planning our next homeschool year. It’s enough to make a girl pull out her Happy Planner and go crazy!
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3 ESV
What’s In Store…
This coming year, we have something different in mind for school. We are taking a year away from our traditional curriculum. We love My Father’s World and will miss it greatly, but I feel like God has something else in store for us at this time. This year we are going on a journey through the Bible. Most of our subjects are going to center around the Bible. We want to learn the stories. We want to learn the history. We want to feel what the Biblical heroes experienced. We want to discover how Jesus is weaved throughout the entire Bible. We want to be challenged and changed.
When God is involved, we can expect nothing less than the extraordinary. Click To TweetWhen God is involved, we can expect nothing less than the extraordinary. I know it is going to be an amazing year for us. I also feel God’s leading to share our amazing experience with you. I want to start with the end in mind. After taking this year long journey, I plan to make the curriculum we have developed available to you. That’s where you come in…
I Need YOU!
I have developed a survey to give you a chance to share what you would like to see in a curriculum. By taking a few minutes to fill it out, you are helping me develop something that will be a blessing to all of us.
Here is a link to the survey. Thank you so much for your help. Happy Planning!

I have an 11mo and an almost 3 year old, so we’re making our bucket list for sure, too! The splash pad on post is now open, so we’ll be regulars there for sure. Probably do library time during the week, and days for park hopping before it gets too hot. We also found a neighboring town that is just the most delightful little jewel: old fashioned ice cream parlors and bakeries, swimming in this beautiful lake, etc. We’ll definitely go there a few times this summer, too!

That sounds like a great list! We are fans of all those things too. I’m so glad we finally live in a place with a splash pad!

Ooh completing the survey!
I’m planning our “PE” – Alaska winters are harsh. So all the physical activity we haven’t done yet I’m trying to accomplish – running, biking, hiking.
Planning some much needed staycations.
Planning the next school year.

I think your curriculum sounds really interesting. If I were homeschooling my kids I would definitely think that was a great idea to really help solidify them in the knowledge.
