Little Ones Love Noah

My littlest gets excited every time she sees anything with Noah’s Ark.  Just last night she found a Noah’s Ark book and was carrying it around the bookstore.  It is such a popular story that it should be easy to find plenty of versions to share with your children. Even little ones can understand more modern translations straight from the Bible. The more your children hear the word over time, the more they will remember it.

As the rain and the snow

   come down from heaven,

and do not return to it

   without watering the earth

and making it bud and flourish,

so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:

It will not return to me empty,

but will accomplish what I desire

and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV

Themes

Just because the story of Noah is popular, don’t discount its importance.  The theme that God desires our obedience is a crucial one for our entire lives.  Many hinge their belief of a young earth around this story and scientific evidence that point to this story being true.  The most important thing for a Christian, however, is that you believe, trust, and follow in Jesus!

Bring the story of Noah to Life

If you get an opportunity, you can definitely bring this Bible story to life with a visit to the Creation Museum or the new Ark Encounter.  Regardless of your view, if you go with an open mind, you will definitely be challenged Our family has been to the Creation Museum three times.  We look forward to our first visit to the Ark Encounter in the future.  I can just imagine my littlest one’s face seeing the huge ark.

Cool! I will have to check that out! I have been reading my boys a story every night from the Jesus Storybook Bible and it is funny how often I come away learning things too.

I’ll say it again – the VeggieTales people gotta come out with a Noah movie like they did with Jonah!

It seems like every time I read the story of Noah, I understand something in a new way. God is definitely not one dimensional!

I would love to take my kids to the Ark Encounter experience. We have always loved the story of Noah and the ark, and it would be so fun to feel as if we were actually there!

My kids weren’t raised Christian as this is new to me but Noah’s Ark is the first story I shared with them. I think it’s the most interesting and kid friendly bible story.

Thank you for sharing this. I love the story of Noah and so do littles!! We recently visited the Creation Museum and if our kids were still little, they would have loved it. Big kids love it too, right?!

this post makes me wonder how little your littlest is. I heard that at the Creation Museum there is a lot of reading and young children may be bored.

Our littlest is 4, though she was 3 when we went. She loves to follow along with her older siblings, so is pretty well behaved. There is plenty to look at during most of it, even if you aren’t reading. If you want to read, there is plenty of reading to be done though! We read and talked about some of it. I’m sure the older ones got more out of it, but she enjoyed it anyway.

I love how you weave the Word into your homeschool activities. My eldest loves any Bible story with lions especially Daniel in the Lions Den. My middle boy loves the story of creation. 🙂

I agree that the story of Noah is naturally engaging. It’s fun for kids (and adults!) to imagine what it must have been like on the ark.

The story of Noah is one of long-suffering and diligence. It think a good lesson for kids would be to know to keep steady even when others are against you and your beliefs. I love your click to tweets, perhaps adding in “The more your children hear the word over time, the more they will remember it.” as one. 🙂
