There is just something special about putting thoughts down in writing, especially if it’s in a personalized journal. I default to the computer often, but I still want a notebook with me when I’m taking a course or seminar, brainstorming and hashing out ideas, or writing a song or poem. There was a time when I carried a notebook with me everywhere I went.
A blank journal holds so much potential. Who knows what deep thoughts and great ideas may fill the pages? How precious are the journals of the past that fill museums and give us a glimpse into history.
Uses
Journals can be used for so many things, especially when they are the perfect size. Christian Direct journals are about 5 ½ by 8 8 ½ inches. They are great to use for things such as:
• scripture memorization
• sermon notes
• grocery lists and to-do lists
• recipes
• fitness goals and routines
My daughter wanted one to use for a diary. She loves to write, so this was a perfect gift.
Personalization
It’s even more special when a journal is personalized. My daughter was delighted to receive her Christian Journal Direct journal in the mail. She had chosen this cover out of 300! It was a beautiful blue butterfly because it is her favorite color and she loves nature.
When the journal arrived, she loved seeing her name in writing. I was even able to choose the category so that the verses with her name were perfect for youth. (I think this is especially great for youth to help them remember that God’s word is specifically for them.) My daughter said she felt like God was talking directly to her.
Here’s an example of one of the personalized verses…
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, Gemma, as though God were making his appeal through us.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Or, here is another one…
Gemma, do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourself. Do what it says.
James 1:22
