A Personalized Journal to Inspire the Writers in Your Life

by admin 1 Comment

personalized journal

There is just something special about putting thoughts down in writing, especially if it's in a personalized journal.  I default to the computer often, but I still want a notebook with me when I’m taking a course or seminar, brainstorming and hashing out ideas, or writing a song or poem. There was a time when I carried a notebook with me everywhere … [Read more...]

An Honest Minute: The Butterfly Box

I was given a Butterfly Box to review. All views are my own. I want to provide you with the best information so you can make informed decisions! My husband and I have something that we call an “Honest Minute.”  It’s not that we aren’t always honest with each other, but sometimes you just need to say something that is blunt, to the … [Read more...]

The Holy Spirit Is the Best Teacher Ever

by admin 2 Comments

It’s time to get back to school.  Hopefully you’ve enjoyed your summer, but it’s back to the grind.  Whether you enjoy getting back to school or not, there is usually a tiny piece of us that is sad to see summer go.  We must remind ourselves that God’s mercies are new every morning...and every school year too. One reason we can … [Read more...]

How To Help Someone Through the Fire

How to Help Someone Through the Fire

When something bad happens, you have two choices.  First, you can get angry and throw a fit.  The second choice, is to take a deep breath and realize that God has a plan, even in the mess.  My goal is to choose the latter.  It’s a lot easier to do so when you are surrounded by people shining God’s light and being His hands and feet.  We have been … [Read more...]

Describing God’s Indescribable Love

by admin Leave a Comment

I was given a copy of Indescribable in exchange for an honest review.  I can honestly say that before I learned that I was chosen to do a review, I picked up this book in the bookstore and got very excited about it!  All thoughts and opinions on it are completely my own.   None of us can describe the indescribable love of God, yet that is … [Read more...]

Teaching Your Kids to "Fear Not" This Halloween...or Anytime!

Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, it’s hard to escape the season.  All you have to do is walk into Walmart, and an evil witch with green skin and fiery eyes is there to greet you.  Take a few more steps and you run into the aisle covered with ghoulish sounds and fake bloody knives.  I’m all for a some good pumpkin fun, but the scary stuff can … [Read more...]

Creative Ways to Teach Little Ones to Have Thankful Hearts

You wouldn’t think that teaching your kids to have a thankful heart should be difficult. For some reason, however, it is.  My oldest is now ten. Even though we have been teaching him to say his prayers nearly his whole life, he still rushes through the thankful part to get immediately down to his wishlist.  My other two sometimes have similar … [Read more...]

Faith. It’s important all the time, but in this Faith. It’s important all the time, but in this season of uncertainty, it feels even more important. I keep asking God to change my heart if what I want is not what he has for me, but the pull just keeps getting stronger. I am certain of what I hope for. It’s a struggle to be just as certain that He will provide it. But He is faithful even when we are not. Thank goodness! So we will praise Him in the storm...and wait. #faith #waitingplace #godisgood #hewillprovide
