It is a new year! Not only that, but it’s the first Monday of a new year! That’s even more reason to get out there and start living your dreams. There is just something exciting and motivating about a fresh start.
God Put Dreams in Your Heart
Perhaps you set new year’s resolutions and perhaps you don’t. Regardless, you must have dreams in your heart, things that you are passionate about, things that bring you joy. God created you as a unique individual, an individual with interests and dreams, for a purpose.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 ESV
So many of us give up on our joy, our hopes, our dreams, our passions. We think we are too busy to do something frivolous. But what if the frivolous is really what God created you to do? We read it straight from the Bible–God has good works especially for YOU!

Embrace What God Has for You!
Friends, God has good things for you to do this year. I pray that you will live out the dreams and passions that He created specifically for you. I pray that you will walk in His steps, fully embracing the good works that He has for you this year and beyond.
What passion will you be using for God’s glory this year?

I love your peppy attitude about kick starting this new year with fresh goals and ideas. I’m all about making goals for the new year, and I can’t wait to read your list of family resolutions. My husband and I decided to use today to do exactly that- make goals together.

So true, so many do give up on joy, dreams and things they are passionate about because they feel like it just doesn’t matter anymore. Thanks for this and for the guest post at worshipful living

I feel like writing a book is what I’m supposed to do, but the right idea and focus just haven’t settled in my mind. Praying for God to lay just the right focus on my heart.

Hi Tara,
This reminds me of Zechariah 4:10, which says, “Do not despise the day of small things, for the LORD rejoices to see these things take place.”
God finds joy in the small things we do. He takes pleasure in our faithfulness in these little areas. For that reason, we shouldn’t despise – or scorn – these things.

I loved your point about frivolous things. I’m learning that the little moments in our day- that may seem frivolous- are where God does a whole lot of His work.
So my passion this year is two-fold: Raising a godly son (which will of course be my life’s work!) and encouraging Christian women to live closer walks with God…not just go through the motions of daily life.
I’m loving your site! And your subtitle is just perfect. Look forward to reading more from you 🙂

Sometimes I feel like my personal passions do not mesh well with the needs of my family. That’s when I typically cover the ideas in prayer and listen for God’s response.
What I have seen is that when I follow His lead, things typically leave me with a sense of peace.
