Today we continue Water Wonders Virtual Family VBS with The Story of Noah. This is perhaps the most powerful water Bible story of them all!
Little Ones Love Noah
My littlest gets excited every time she sees anything with Noah’s Ark. Just last night she found a Noah’s Ark book and was carrying it around the bookstore. It is such a popular story that it should be easy to find plenty of versions to share with your children. Even little ones can understand more modern translations straight from the Bible. The more your children hear the word over time, the more they will remember it.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV

My kids weren’t raised Christian as this is new to me but Noah’s Ark is the first story I shared with them. I think it’s the most interesting and kid friendly bible story.

Thank you for sharing this. I love the story of Noah and so do littles!! We recently visited the Creation Museum and if our kids were still little, they would have loved it. Big kids love it too, right?!

Yes! We haven’t been to the ark yet, but hope to go soon. The Bible is for all ages!

this post makes me wonder how little your littlest is. I heard that at the Creation Museum there is a lot of reading and young children may be bored.

Our littlest is 4, though she was 3 when we went. She loves to follow along with her older siblings, so is pretty well behaved. There is plenty to look at during most of it, even if you aren’t reading. If you want to read, there is plenty of reading to be done though! We read and talked about some of it. I’m sure the older ones got more out of it, but she enjoyed it anyway.

I love how you weave the Word into your homeschool activities. My eldest loves any Bible story with lions especially Daniel in the Lions Den. My middle boy loves the story of creation. 🙂

I agree that the story of Noah is naturally engaging. It’s fun for kids (and adults!) to imagine what it must have been like on the ark.

The story of Noah is one of long-suffering and diligence. It think a good lesson for kids would be to know to keep steady even when others are against you and your beliefs. I love your click to tweets, perhaps adding in “The more your children hear the word over time, the more they will remember it.” as one. 🙂
